OPENING A BUSINESS ACCOUNT

Thank you for your interest in opening a business account at Harrods Bank. Please find below what is needed from you in order to proceed with opening your account.

We can only open business accounts by appointment. You will need to bring originals of the following documentation with you to the appointment:

 The most recent 6 months statements for your existing bank account
 
For Incorporated Companies:
  • Memorandum and Articles of Association
  • Certificate of Incorporation
  • Most recent audited accounts
  • Company share certificate

For each partner, director, beneficial owner (who has a 25% or more shareholding) and for each signatory to the account:-
 
Depending on your nationality and residency you are required to provide a number of the following documents Number of documents required to prove your NAME Number of documents required to prove your ADDRESS
UK national living in the UK 1 1
UK national living abroad 1 2
EU national (non UK) living in the UK 1 2
EU national (non UK) living in your home country 1 2
Other foreign national living in the UK 2 2

For example if you are an EU national living in your home country You must provide 1 document to prove your NAME You must provide 2 documents to prove your ADDRESS


ACCEPTABLE DOCUMENTATION
 
1 x PERSONAL IDENTITY      PLUS      MINIMUM 1 x ADDRESS VERIFICATION
 
1 x Photocard Identity:
  • Current valid (signed) full EU Passport
  • Current valid  (signed) non EU Passport
  • Current valid National ID card (non UK Nationals)
  • Current UK / EU Photocard Driving Licence
  • Current Firearms/Shotgun Certificate
 
OR:
1 x Non-Photocard Identity plus an additional Proof of Address:
  • Valid (old style) full UK driving licence
  • Current State Pension notification letter
  • Current Benefits Agency letter
   
  • Current UK / EU Photocard Driving Licence
  • Valid (old style) full UK driving licence
 
Issued within the last 12 months:
  • Mortgage Statement or Mortgage Redemption Statement
  • Current Council Tax Bill
  • House or motor insurance certificate
  • Current State Pension notification letter
  • Current Benefits Agency letter
  • Solicitor letter confirming completion of house purchase
  • HMRC Tax notification documentation (this does not include P60s)
  • Letter from Council confirming Electoral Roll listing
 
Issued within the last 3 months:
  • Bank / Building Society / Statement (please note that we are unable to accept internet banking print-outs)
  • Account, investment or insurance document
  • Utility Bill – Gas, Electricity, Water, Telephone (Not mobile phones)
Unfortunately, we are unable to accept statements or bills printed from the Internet


If you are unable to provide any documents from the list provided, please telephone us on 020 7225 6789  to discuss alternative arrangements that may be possible. We will do all we can to find a suitable alternative to take account of your individual circumstances, however we regret that we cannot open an account without necessary identification.


To comply with current UK legislation, copies of these original documents will need to be taken to the branch and retained in the Bank’s records.
