HOW CAN I OPEN AN ACCOUNT?
Customers can either
- For our Fixed Rate Deposit Accounts, 120 Day Notice Account and Instant Access Savings Accounts Apply on our Website. As part of the online application process you may be required to send us ID and Address verification documents
- Download a postal application form on our website
- Request a postal application pack be sent to them by calling 0800 387704
- Come in to our branch on the 2nd floor of Harrods
DO I NEED TO HOLD A CURRENT ACCOUNT WITH HARRODS BANK TO OPEN A SAVINGS ACCOUNT?
No, the Bank does not require other products to be held to open a savings account or Fixed Rate Deposit Account.
DO I STILL NEED TO SEND YOU IDENTIFICATION AND ADDRESS VERIFICATION DOCUMENTS IF I APPLY ONLINE?
It is a legal requirement for us to verify customer details and we aim to undertake these checks online as part of the application process. If we are able to successfully verify your identity and address electronically, you will not need to send us certified copies through the post. If we are unable to verify your identity and address electronically, we must receive certified copies of documents to prove your identity and address. WHAT IS A NOMINATED ACCOUNT?
A nominated account is an account that we link to your Harrods Bank account so that you can transfer money between accounts safely and securely. The nominated account must be a UK personal bank or building society account in your name(s).
CAN I OPEN AN ACCOUNT IN YOUR BRANCH?
Our branch staff will be delighted to assist you with completing your application and will certify your identification documentation. They will not be able to issue an account number immediately, as further checks will be required on the application, but a letter will be sent to you shortly after your visit to the branch advising you of your new account details.
IF I SEND A CHEQUE TO OPEN THE ACCOUNT, WHO DO I MAKE IT PAYABLE TO?
Cheques should be made payable to the named applicants e.g. if the account is for Mr Smith, cheque payable to Mr Smith; if the account is for Mr and Mrs Smith, cheque should be payable to Mr & Mrs Smith.
HOW LONG WILL THESE PRODUCTS BE AVAILABLE FOR?
There are no plans to change or withdraw the current products. However, we cannot guarantee their availability so advise you to apply as soon as possible to secure the term and rate you require. The bank will not inform you in writing of any rate change.
Your list of available products has changed. Can I get one of the previous products?
From time to time we vary the range of products and interest rates we have on offer. Once we remove a product issue from sale you will not be able to apply for it. However, with a range on offer we invite you to take the time to review the other products available to you.
